María Antongiorgi Jordán, Esq. selected as new Clerk of Court for the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico

The Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (USDCPR), Gustavo A. Gelpí, is pleased to announce that María Antongiorgi Jordán, Esq., has been selected as the new Clerk of Court for District Court of Puerto Rico, effective September 13, 2019, following the retirement of the current Clerk of Court, Frances Ríos de Morán, Esq.

Born in San Germán, newly selected Clerk Antongiorgi was appointed Chief Deputy Clerk of the District Court of Puerto Rico on June 11, 2018. Prior to joining the Court, Ms. Antongiorgi worked at McConnell Valdés, LLC, where she started her career as an attorney in 1995, and later became a Capital Member of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. She is an experienced litigator and has vast experience in counseling and employee relations, organizational planning, and management of operations.

In 1989, Antongiorgi obtained a B.A. from Seton Hill University, her law degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 1992, and an LLM on Labor and Employment Law from Georgetown University in 1994. She has been a member of the U.S. District Court Examination Committee for the past ten years and has also served in several other committees and initiatives in support of the Court’s mission.
